Jerusalem Dropbox - Adult Emergency

The Jerusalem drop box is located at the main consular entrance of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem at 14 David Flusser Street in Arnona,


The drop box is available from Monday to Thursday between 8:00am and 12:30 pm, except on local and federal holidays.  No appointment is necessary.  



Emergency passports are intended for U.S. citizens who need to travel immediately to the United States due to an unexpected incident or for U.S. citizen tourists whose passports were lost or stolen during their travels.


Please be aware that emergency passports are limited-validity. The US Embassy strongly encourages you to exchange your limited-validity emergency passport for a new, full-validity passport as soon as possible. If you do so within one year of the issuance of the emergency passport, you will not be charged another passport application fee.


Emergency renewals can be placed in the dropbox, for anyone who is eligible to renew by dropbox. Please write “emergency” on the envelope. Emergency renewals via dropbox are available for pickup within several days.


Eligibility for Passport Renewal by dropbox:

You may renew your passport by utilizing the drop-box service for an adult passport renewal if all of the following requirements apply:

  • Your passport is not damaged and was issued within the last 15 years;

  • You were at least 16 years old when your most recent passport was issued;

  • The passport you are renewing was valid for a 10-year period; and

  • The passport was issued in your current name.  (If you have changed your name since your most recent passport was issued, you must submit legal documentation of your name change.)

  • You can include a printed payment confirmation from Pay.gov.


A complete application package includes:

  • Completed, signed, and dated application for a U.S. Passport (DS-82). Complete the DS-82 form online and print it.

  • Photo: One 2-inch x 2-inch / 5cm x 5cm square passport photo taken within the last six months.

  • Evidence of U.S. citizenship (your valid or expired passport)

  • Printed payment confirmation sheet from Pay.gov

Parking:

There is ample street parking in the area of the Embassy.
